Day 15 - Nick finally gets molested!

It was a blessing in disguise not booking any accomadation before we arrived in samui. The place we had pencilled in as an option was right above a disco, but the place we ended up staying in has air con, a tv, shower with pressure and the sheets get changed every day! A little upmarket for our standards but worth the splurge at this stage of the trip anyway. Its 600 baht each!

Such was the quality of our beds and air con, we couldnt help but sleep in... so by about 11 we finally got up and sought breakfast. Was the worst brekky of the trip as the eggs were untouchable, something was seriously wrong with them (although the shake banana was good).

We decided to check out the beach and were suitably impressed with the views. Its a beautiful long beach which despite being overdeveloped is still a great place to wander around...
After walking all the way up the beach we decided to walk back down the main drag to do some shopping. It turned out that this took all day! We ended up buying sunnies, 25 dvds, 10 tshirts, 5 pants and numerous presents. Should probably have bought more as you dont get anything like this in Sydney!

Matt is slowly getting a little better at bartering, although he still doesnt have the tough streak necessary to get that extra baht off... he doesnt threaten to walk away enough!

All throughout the day the sounds of the street were broken with the recorded announcement of an impending muay thai (thai boxing) event. It was "chump versus chump, starting at 9pm, starting at 9pm, get in early, get in early, chump versus chump" etc.

After finally finishing up shopping we had to quickly get ready to head down to the Liverpool game at the Islander (the original place we had planned on watching it was closed due to a buddhist holiday). Finally found a 24 hour international call centre so was able to get onto Lana, but the 5 second delay was so annoying! Crappy thailand phone system! Walshy has gone on to the islander, but after my phone call i was in such a daze that a walked about 500 m past the pub until i realised!

Liverpool dominated but still lost to a crappy oshea injury time goal... we decided to drink away our sorrows so went to Paradise Murphys to watch the other games and have some more beer. We ended up playing pool for about 3 hours, when drunk things dont get boring as easily i guess. Eventually we decided it would be a good idea to try and get kicked out... so we began playing a hockey soccer variation with the white pool ball. After about 10 mins the manager came over, an irish bloke, and picked up the ball and calmly said it wasnot a soccer ball. He then began talking about his time in sydney and how he used to play for the irish under 16 team... not quite the scene we expected to create but good to have a chat him, was a pretty good bloke.

Was now about 2am and since maccas was accross the road we decided we had to have our thai maccas experience. the big macs, nuggets and soft serves we all similar, but what was great was the pies. They had three variations, the simple pineapple, interesting taro and oustanding (!) corn. Matt couldnt stomach the corn one but i didnt mind it too much , made for an interesting change!

At about 2.30am we began the walk home. The streets were deserted bar one thing - Heaps of lady boys who certainly werent shy. Despite matts previous attraction and affiliatoins with teh lady boys, he seemed to be invisible as they all seemed to home in on me instead this time. "herrow, you interested in me, i have very big breasts, you want blow job". To which i replied "Im not interested", when they kept coming on to me i quickly told them i had a girlfriend, to which she (he?) groped me and said "but i am here now"... made for an interesting walk home... not really one id like to experience agian...but memerable nevertheless.
Finally got to bed at 3am in confort (and thankfully not sharing my bed with any lady boys)

Day 14 - Can you believe there was light at the end of the tunnel?

(The following account is fact, not fiction. Brace yourselves)

The boys are soldiering on, with a most luscient ambifilent hue on our trangenderent apocalyptic mosaic of gentlemenliness.

No visuals for those who are visually impaired cos you wouldn't be able to see anything anyway. The braille version of this website is downloadable from www.BLOBthai07trip.blogspot.com (BLOg for the Blind). But, I guess you won't be able to read this unless you download some text to speech software such as 'Advanced Text to speech3.6'; http://www.download.com/Advanced-Text-to-Speech/3000-7239_4-10188677.html

I guess if you're actually blind and don't have the software then you're an idiot for trying to read this cos it's not possible.

Anyway, we left the girls, which is sad as they made sure we washed & ate properly. We got in a minivan, got out a minivan, got back in to different seats and then got out into a large bus all within 10 minutes. There was logic somewhere apparently. In any case we ended up in a large, air-conditioned bus with 2 seats to ourselves. Was fairly relaxing, we were able to read and play cards (met some Irish bloke called Patrick) in the back (only the cool people sit at the back of the bus). This was until we realised that by getting on the bus it probably added an extra 2 hours to the trip cos the bloody thing only went 70km/h (that's what nick said cos he was awake more). The b@st@rds sold us the wrong tickets it seems cos we were supposed to be in a minivan the whole way.

Was boring as hell but alright tho cos we got a heap of sleep but I started feeling sick so took all the tablets that were in my bag (2 diff types for some diahroea) cos i figure medicine can only make you feel better (quote unquote Matt Allan =) ) and felt better a bit later. Not quite sure what the tabs did. Indpendent of what was goin on in my body, the bouncing around in the bus made us both a bit sickly so we were happy to get out when we got to the port.

We barely made it on to the ferry cos the bus driver went down the wrong road the goose. Nick & I hogged a row of seats on the ferry cos we were both frustrated that we were about 2 hours later than we should have been.

We played some big 2 and Oh Hell - Nick's by far the best at Big2 but I claim to be the champion of Oh Hell! (These titles mean so much more than anyone can every realise).

Anyway, we eventually got to our accommodation, glad that we didn't book in advance (The boys did something right!) cos the place we would have been in overlooked a club that smashed out live music.

We eventually found an absolute palace for 1200 Baht/night - aircon, minibar, good shower & they change your sheets! No more double beds which means no spooning (damn). Thought we'd splash out cos we're not here for long and hell, it's just so cheap and we're in the latter 3rd of the trip.

But yeah aboslute palace and we're clean! (Nick pointed out this irony with the girls gone) Just nice to sleep in good beds with aircon. And cartoons! (memories of the days at Byron 2 or 3 yrs ago) - we'll have photos soon =)

We're staying in a place towards the SOuthern End of Chaweng Beach in Ko Samui, stones throw from it.

We were pretty tired but decided to go out for dinner - Had Massuman Curry at a place just down the road then off to a place called Ark Bar on the beach for a few chilled beers. Had a few kids harass us to try to play Connect 4 against them for money but after the embarassing losses in Patong to the bar chicks (though they do play every day) but we told them to swallow all the chips and we'll compete with them to try get 4 consecutive heart beats.

A bit tired, we walked back along the beach to the hotel and fell asleep pretty quickly - I've got The Beach from Nick to read, I think he fell asleep pretty quickly...

In short, nice to have a bit of luxury.

Ko Samui looks like heaps of fun - especially with the full-moon party coming up on SUnday! (Day 16).

This is the end, my friend

It is our last day in Thailand, Lucy and I are sitting in the backpackers in Phuket waiting to leave for our flights outta here. We farewelled the boys this morning, and with tears welling up in our eyes, we stood on the street, in our pyjamas ( me in my gorgeous rubber duckie boxers) and watched as the mini-van disappeared down the street.

Feeling the loss of half of our team we have decided to be nostalgic and recap on the good times and the not so good times of this trip. Dont worry, we will have visuals for those of you who are visually challenged.
It seems poetic that my last blog shall also be my first, however, I will have the support of Lucy to get me through this posting and hopefully the two of us combined will paint a more objective recount of this trip than the boys have done on previous postings.

So lets get on with the tale:
First lets introduce our characters and their individual attributes they brought to this trip;

Lucy, ahh lucy, well what can we say about lucy. Always lovable, wants only to please the group and keeps up the group morale by contastantly getting sick off the food we eat. If it wasn't for Lucy we would not have a single food poisoning story. Now we have hundreds!

AJ- the token Asian (she's half Japanese you know), always ready to barter for the equivalent of 20 cents....and confront the boys on any and every issue.....She's the only one that made anything happen on this trip with her alpha female personality she was more of a man than the boys....
In defense I was only trying to keep the trip politically correct!

Nic...see body shots posted further down on this page. he was definately our pretty boy

Matt.. the man that created the funny/creepy events on the trip. Must be his personality or something but freaks were drawn to matt, whether it be ladyboys, persistent store sellers, vomitting/defacating animals the lot. Thank god for Matt and his pheremones!

okay... on retrospect, it is taking way to long to download photos, and considering the boys have kept a somewhat good account of what we have done, and my incompetence and lack of patience with technology; instead we are going to put of a photo essay of the time in between.

Things we remember/shall NEVER forget;

The bodies....

And of course the boobs...

Note: see previous entry for cleavage shot of Lucy's assets

The crazy tuk tuk rides; dangerous but ohh so fun!

The drinking..... okay lets be fair, Matt, Nic and I drinking and Lucy watching. Harsh but fair! That's only because I was afraid my drink would be spiked by AJ.....and everyone knows I am a true Cadbury....

The sleeping.....don't the boys look cosy and way too comfortable!

And of course Matt in a sarong.....because he really just wanted to be a girl....
Hope everyone enjoyed our rendition of the trip. Brief but beautiful all the same. same same but different.
To the boys; dont get raped in ko samui. huddle close to each other at night, just to be safe.
Love you guys
Lucy and Anjuli (AJ)

day 13/morning of 14....(I think)

it's 1.40am. It is impossible to sleep....four trillion degrees...110% humidity.....

AJ and the boys went out tonight to Patong beach, just near Phuket town to see a ping-pong show and have some dinner. I'm looking forward to them uploading photos of that!! My stomach is still recovering from the cooking experience (maybe I'm not the chef I thought I was...) and so i stayed back at the hostel to watch a movie and attempt to get an early night.

Yesterday we did nothing-quite literally. The morning was spent on the internet- sometimes i think we all spend more time on the internet than actually doing anything!! Looking to book the next few days of our trips. I got a flight to bangkok from phuket but failed to find accomodation nearby that I'm willing to pay for- I'm even more of a stinge when dealing in baht! so am looking forward to a fun few hours sleeping in bangkok airport :) The boys researched options for getting to koh samui/pha nang for the full moon party- but of course made no decisions and booked nothing :) AJ, fed up by our indecisions, read by the pool..... In the afternoon we headed over to long beach (because the boys are incapable of doing something new!) where the others got a massage again, while I lay in a bungalow drinking pineapple juice and reading. Matt was massaged by a lady boy.... and despite what he might say- he loved it! ;)

we racked up quite a bill from drinking banana chi chis? and martinis that were well below par according to resident barchick AJ. headed to Mr Wee's for another pizza dinner.....

AJ and I crashed pretty early and the boys headed out in search of shitcat- I'll leave that explanation up to them!

This morning we caught a ferry over to phuket....my stomach played up again so all I've done is stay at the hostel- wild I know! so I'll let the others fill you in on their adventures today. And the girls (matt and nick) can tell you all about their shopping expeditions...

off to bangkok tomorrow to fly out early the following morning and AJs off to KL.....then it's up to the boys to party hard at full moon party :)
