Day 14 - Can you believe there was light at the end of the tunnel?

(The following account is fact, not fiction. Brace yourselves)

The boys are soldiering on, with a most luscient ambifilent hue on our trangenderent apocalyptic mosaic of gentlemenliness.

No visuals for those who are visually impaired cos you wouldn't be able to see anything anyway. The braille version of this website is downloadable from www.BLOBthai07trip.blogspot.com (BLOg for the Blind). But, I guess you won't be able to read this unless you download some text to speech software such as 'Advanced Text to speech3.6'; http://www.download.com/Advanced-Text-to-Speech/3000-7239_4-10188677.html

I guess if you're actually blind and don't have the software then you're an idiot for trying to read this cos it's not possible.

Anyway, we left the girls, which is sad as they made sure we washed & ate properly. We got in a minivan, got out a minivan, got back in to different seats and then got out into a large bus all within 10 minutes. There was logic somewhere apparently. In any case we ended up in a large, air-conditioned bus with 2 seats to ourselves. Was fairly relaxing, we were able to read and play cards (met some Irish bloke called Patrick) in the back (only the cool people sit at the back of the bus). This was until we realised that by getting on the bus it probably added an extra 2 hours to the trip cos the bloody thing only went 70km/h (that's what nick said cos he was awake more). The b@st@rds sold us the wrong tickets it seems cos we were supposed to be in a minivan the whole way.

Was boring as hell but alright tho cos we got a heap of sleep but I started feeling sick so took all the tablets that were in my bag (2 diff types for some diahroea) cos i figure medicine can only make you feel better (quote unquote Matt Allan =) ) and felt better a bit later. Not quite sure what the tabs did. Indpendent of what was goin on in my body, the bouncing around in the bus made us both a bit sickly so we were happy to get out when we got to the port.

We barely made it on to the ferry cos the bus driver went down the wrong road the goose. Nick & I hogged a row of seats on the ferry cos we were both frustrated that we were about 2 hours later than we should have been.

We played some big 2 and Oh Hell - Nick's by far the best at Big2 but I claim to be the champion of Oh Hell! (These titles mean so much more than anyone can every realise).

Anyway, we eventually got to our accommodation, glad that we didn't book in advance (The boys did something right!) cos the place we would have been in overlooked a club that smashed out live music.

We eventually found an absolute palace for 1200 Baht/night - aircon, minibar, good shower & they change your sheets! No more double beds which means no spooning (damn). Thought we'd splash out cos we're not here for long and hell, it's just so cheap and we're in the latter 3rd of the trip.

But yeah aboslute palace and we're clean! (Nick pointed out this irony with the girls gone) Just nice to sleep in good beds with aircon. And cartoons! (memories of the days at Byron 2 or 3 yrs ago) - we'll have photos soon =)

We're staying in a place towards the SOuthern End of Chaweng Beach in Ko Samui, stones throw from it.

We were pretty tired but decided to go out for dinner - Had Massuman Curry at a place just down the road then off to a place called Ark Bar on the beach for a few chilled beers. Had a few kids harass us to try to play Connect 4 against them for money but after the embarassing losses in Patong to the bar chicks (though they do play every day) but we told them to swallow all the chips and we'll compete with them to try get 4 consecutive heart beats.

A bit tired, we walked back along the beach to the hotel and fell asleep pretty quickly - I've got The Beach from Nick to read, I think he fell asleep pretty quickly...

In short, nice to have a bit of luxury.

Ko Samui looks like heaps of fun - especially with the full-moon party coming up on SUnday! (Day 16).
